Dining in and around Melbourne’s eastern suburbs

Melbourne’s eastern suburbs are home to a large number of nationalities, cultures and, as a result, countless cafes and restaurants showcasing spectacular fresh cuisines.

From Asian fusions to Mediterranean menus, here is a snapshot of the great dining located in and around our Park Avenue Accommodation Group locations.

Kew

One of the most prestigious suburbs in Melbourne, picturesque Kew boasts plenty of character and is populated with Edwardian, Victorian and contemporary architecture. Kew’s primary dining precincts are found on High Street, Yarra Boulevard and Cotham Road. Celebrate a special occasion with friends and family or enjoy an intimate dinner for two at one of the area’s fine dining restaurants; or for a mid-week treat, indulge your tastebuds at a casual café.

Popular Italian restaurant Centenove welcomes you to dine in relaxed and sophisticated surrounds as you indulge in modern Italian dishes complemented by a fantastic boutique wine selection. Centenove offers lunch, a la carte and special event menus.

For quality Greek in simple, elegant surrounds, Hellenic Republic delivers a great selection of banquet-style share menus, as well as a la carte and take away options. Hellenic Republic is popular with families, and hosts an interesting range of fun events including cooking classes.

Coffee connoisseurs will enjoy a visit to Ora Specialty Coffee for siphon made-coffee and an inventive menu, and should also check out popular coffee haunts Base Camp Expresso and Percy’s Aeroplane Expresso.

Glen Waverley

If your tastebuds sing with the freshness of Asian flavours, you must visit Kingsway Glen Waverley. This vibrant dining precinct is brimming with Chinese, Malaysian, Vietnamese and Thai restaurants, as well as modern Australian, Mediterranean and European offerings.

Popular Asian picks include Grand Tofu, Petailing Street and Paradise Road. For tapas and a stunning Spanish menu, head to Black Taro, and for something sweet, Piatella Café and Muddings Bakery are the picks amongst locals.

Steak Ministry Bar and Grill is renowned for its specialty cuts and preparations, as well as King Island Jumbo Scallops, is something not to be missed.

For something more casual, YOMG Yoghurt and Burgers offers a vast array of unique burgers, buns, shakes and yoghurts. With burger options for the seafood lover, classic connoisseur and vege lover, there certainly is something to please every member of your group.

Forest Hill

Forest Hill offers a range of great options for guests seeking fresh, tasty and fuss-free fare. Located within the Forest Hill Chase Shopping Centre, Baowie serves rave-worthy Chinese. You can even watch the chefs hand craft their tasty dumplings as you wait.

For classic, quality fish and chips done right, Brentford Fish and chips is known to Forest Hill locals for freshness and flavour. A selection of side salads, as well as burgers, souvlaki and other tasty treats also feature on the menu.

Fresh sushi, tasty hot pots and other Japanese favourites abound at Nishiki. Open for lunch and dinner, Nishiki delivers casual, comfortable dining.
